It’s that time of year – Gem City Roller Derby Open Recruitment! If you’ve been curious about getting involved in your local roller derby league, NOW is the time you’ve been waiting for.
Join us on February 6 from 8-10pm for our open recruitment event To sign up, visit www.gemcityrollerderby.com/join and click on the link called “Member Interest Form” and fill out the form there to RSVP.
We have (limited) loaner gear you can use to get started. You must bring your own mouthguard.
Do you want to get active, be in a close-knit community, or just have more fun in your life? DO IT! Don’t be too intimated to try something new that’ll grow your confidence immensely. If you’re nervous or have questions, just shoot us a message and one of our skaters will answer you! We’ve all been in your shoes before. This is your sign to sign up and try roller derby out for the first time (or get involved again if it’s been a while). Join this awesome group of people playing an incredibly fun sport!

Gem City Roller Derby is a skater-owned and operated non-profit that was founded in Dayton in 2006. All funds raised go directly toward supporting the league and the local community. Dayton’s roller derby league is one of the top-ranked teams in the world.
Roller derby is a full-contact sport played by two teams of five players on a flat track. Each team has a “jammer” who scores points by lapping the other team’s players. The team with the most points at the end of the bout is the winner. Roller derby is a fast-paced, hard-hitting, and in-your-face game that is unique in that it is one of few contact sports dominated by women. We hope you join us for this exhibition scrimmage.
