DESCRIPTION:The Miamisburg Triathlon is a great way to close out your summer. The bike and run are both flat\, fast courses. It’s a 2.5 mile canoe\, followed by a 5k run and concludes with a 10 mile bike. Participants can race with a partner or as a solo\, either way you’ll have something to brag about when you finish. All finishers get a custom medal and a great post-race spread. \n  \n2 Person Team Entry includes the canoe rental\, life vests and paddles.  Solo participants either bring your own kayak or paddleboard or make arrangements with Barefoot Canoe 937-698-4351 to have one brought for you on race day.  We have a limit of 50 entry spots for 2-person teams.  Solo spots are unlimited. \n  \nFor 2-Person Team entries\, do not use the Add Participant feature.  You will be prompted for your partner’s information later in the registration process. \n  \nThank you for your interest in the Miamisburg Triathlon.  Race day is Sunday\, August 24\, 2025: \n  \nStart Times will be assigned in the order registrations are received.  We will publish them once we get closer to race day. \n

DESCRIPTION:As the nation approaches the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks\, the UD Arena will play host to the 11th annual LION Gem City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Sponsored by Dayton’s LION Group and presented by Premier Health\, registration is now open through September 12 at www.gemcityclimb.org. \nThis year’s climb will be held on Saturday\, September 13\, beginning at 9 AM at the University of Dayton Arena. The event welcomes everyone who wants to honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11\, 2001\, as well as those who have died since then. \nAll proceeds will go to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF). Funds raised from the LION Gem City 9/11 Stair Climb directly support the NFFF’s mission to honor our nation’s fallen firefighters\, support their families\, and reduce firefighter line-of-duty deaths and injuries across the fire service. The Foundation also provides scholarships\, peer support\, grief and mental health resources\, and crucial safety training to departments nationwide. \nThe LION Gem City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at UD Arena remains one of the largest events of its kind in the area. Since it began in Yellow Springs\, it has drawn nearly 3\,000 participants from the fire service community\, their families\, friends\, and the public\, who together have raised over $180\,000 for the NFFF. \nParticipants will climb the equivalent of 110 stories\, the height of the World Trade Center towers\, on the iconic steps of UD Arena. Each climber will carry an honor badge bearing the name and photo of one of the fallen firefighters and police officers\, symbolically completing the journey those heroes began. Upon completion\, climbers will ring a fire bell in solemn tribute. The climb is not a race but rather a moving tribute to the heroes of 9/11. (Participants are not required to climb the entire climb.)

Join us for the 2025 RIVER RIDE celebrating the 6.7-mile trail section that connects Miamisburg to Franklin and the Great Miami River Recreation Trail. \nThe ride is approximately a 13-mile round trip. You ride at your own pace.  This event is free\, and perfect for all ages and skill levels. \nThe Miamisburg-Franklin connection of the recreation trail is approximately a 13-mile round trip. You ride at your own pace. \nYou will START your ride at either location:\n– Riverfront Park Miamisburg (1 Water St\, Miamisburg) OR\n– Franklins First Log Cabin Post Office (River Street\, near intersection of 5th & River). \nStaggered start between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and finish by 2:00 p.m. \nBefore or cycling the trail\, visit Miamisburg or Franklin for great community activities! \nIn Miamisburg: Riverfront Park is a short walk to the shops and restaurants of downtown Miamisburg\, the park covers 7 acres of green space along the Great Miami River. The park hosts many events including concerts\, carnivals\, and seasonal events. Ample parking and bike racks make the park very accessible with easy access to the Great Miami River Recreation Trail. Don’t miss the Children’s Performing Arts of Miamisburg presenting The Spongebob Musical at Riverfront Park! \nIn Franklin: The Downtown Franklin Farmers Market is held at the Franklin City Building (1 Benjamin Franklin Way) during the summer on Saturdays\, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. This is the 11th season of our outdoor Farmers Market which features fresh\, local produce\,  wonderful baked goods; cookies\, jams and jellies; fresh flowers; nut brittles; farm-fresh eggs\, beef\, chicken\, and pork; handcrafted soaps and body butters; local\, raw honey; and so much more! \nFamilies are welcome – Participants 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult. \nFirst 50 people registered get a free Goodie Bag!

Grab a passport from any participating business (they’ll have big flags out!)\n2. Stroll through downtown Miamisburg (DORA friendly) treating yourself to various chocolate treats from all of our amazing merchants! At each stop\, be sure to get your passport stamped!\n3. When you’re done\, hand in your stamped passport (need 8 stamps) at any participating business. This enters you into the raffle for a chance to WIN a gift basket bursting with goodies generously provided by our awesome local Miamisburg downtown crew.\nBasket will be given out at 9pm at Jayne’s on Main!\nWe’re pumped to make this a chocolate filled day for you!
