DESCRIPTION:The Spring rendition of the Girls on the Run 5k will return to Wright State University.  Girls on the Run is an incredible program that inspires girls to be joyful\, healthy and confident using a fun\, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.  Girls on the Run strives for a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.\nAs many of you know\, our Girls on the Run participants traditionally run alongside an adult Running Buddy. The job of the Running Buddy is to provide one-on-one support and encouragement to their girl as she takes on a great challenge. YOU can help our girls find their happy pace and share in the magic of helping her cross the finish line.  The race day give-away is a Girls On The Run branded reusable bag and is first come first served – so don’t wait to sign up!\nBack this year\, we are continuing a Fun Run.  The half-mile fun run will start and finish at the same start finish line as the 5K.  It will start at 12:30pm. This race will not be timed\, but we will run the clock for participants to see their time.  It is open to anyone not quite ready to take on the entire 5K – and a great opportunity for younger siblings and friends!\n  \nWhen: Saturday\, April 25\, 2026. 5k at 1:00pm. Some of the city’s distinctive and significant structures were demolished\, while others\, including the Dayton Arcade and Centre City Building\, saw challenging times but now await redevelopment. Explore and learn about the diverse selection of retail\, industrial\, entertainment\, and residential sites on this guided walking tour of Downtown Dayton. \nTours are available on Fridays beginning May 2 and run through October 2025. The cost is $10 per person and reservations are required to attend. \nOur guided downtown walking tours will launch promptly at 5:30 p.m. from the Dayton Arcade entrance on Fourth Street. This 90-minute\, 1.5-mile tour may be deemed strenuous by some\, and patrons should be able to walk/navigate city sidewalks and streets. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle if needed. Tours will launch rain or shine\, except in the event of thunder or lightning.

Sign-in and hash! \nCost: $8 for beer drinkers. Otherwise\, $4. Free for first time hashers! \nHares: Dah Gimp & 50mm \nHash Trail: What a great park to hash!!! Expect beautiful Fall scenery! You’ll immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of Fall season foliage as you gleefully hash through Shiggyland. Trail is medium length A to B. Lots of hills and new territory that we never hashed before. We’ll ferry people back to the cars. \nHashing in General: This is a fun run or hike where you will follow a trail of flour not knowing exactly where it will lead. One or more beer/water stops along the way! In hashing you’ll will be running/walking as part of a group. The faster runners will be out ahead looking for flour marks on the ground trying to figure out which way the trail route goes. Sometimes they go the wrong way which allows the slower runners/walkers to catch up and even get ahead. This allows everyone to go at their own pace and stay together as a group. \nDogs: Allowed in Metropark\, but a leash is required. Since trail is mostly in the woods it won’t be easy to keep the leash untangled. \nChildren: Adults only for first-time hashers\, since many of us do drink beer. 😋 Otherwise 18+.
