SUMMARY:Closing Reception: Gretchen Durst Jacobs: What the Body Carries
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the final opportunity to view What the Body Carries by Gretchen Durst Jacobs. \n“My paintings begin with the body. I work at a scale that matches my full reach—fingertip to fingertip—so each mark records movement\, presence\, and intuition. The grid holds it all in place. It gives me something to push against. It’s not about control\, but containment—a way to hold chaos\, memory\, and motion all at once. \nThough my work is abstract\, it is shaped by 25 years of painting directly from observation. I grew up identifying birds\, plants\, and insects with my parents\, both musicians and amateur naturalists. Summers on my grandparents’ farm taught me to read the weather\, notice seasonal shifts\, and understand time as cyclical. These rhythms still guide me. Nature wasn’t just a backdrop — it was how I made sense of things\, especially while growing up with a mother whose moods were unpredictable and overwhelming. I watched how the land adapted: trees bending around fallen trunks\, still growing. \nI use color\, gesture\, and layered marks to process the full spectrum of lived experience – grief\, trauma\, joy and survival. Sacred geometry appears as a structing force\, a visual and emotional anchor. I am interested in how a line can hold chaos\, how paint can become a kind of memory. Everything I make is an attempt to reconcile feeling with form\, to honor what we carry\, to map what cannot always be said.” \n  \nThis event is FREE and open to all.

DESCRIPTION:What begins as a polite meeting between two sets of parents to discuss a playground altercation between their sons quickly unravels into a sharp\, darkly comic battle of egos\, manners\, and moral superiority. As civility crumbles\, alliances shift and raw instincts emerge\, exposing the chaos simmering beneath modern\, well-intentioned adulthood.

SUMMARY:A Night of the Absurd
DESCRIPTION:Absurd theater at it’s best!\nWhat happens when Krapp reaches his last tape? \nThe Smiths are a traditional couple from London who have invited another couple\, the Martins\, over for a visit…which leads all to engage in meaningless banter\, telling stories and relating nonsensical poems. How ridiculous can it get? Come and see.

SUMMARY:God of Carnage
DESCRIPTION:What begins as a polite meeting between two sets of parents to discuss a playground altercation between their sons quickly unravels into a sharp\, darkly comic battle of egos\, manners\, and moral superiority. As civility crumbles\, alliances shift and raw instincts emerge\, exposing the chaos simmering beneath modern\, well-intentioned adulthood.

SUMMARY:Four Old Broads
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are now available for Actor’s Theatre\, Fairborn’s next show\, “Four Old Broads.” This hilarious show does contain adult themes and strong language. \nRetirement has never been this rowdy! \nMeet Beatrice\, a former burlesque star with a mouth like a sailor\, and her best friend Eaddy\, a deeply religious woman who is just trying to keep her dignity intact. Along with their friends at the Magnolia Place Assisted Living facility\, they have a major problem: the “Sassy Senior Cruise” is fast approaching\, but a dark cloud is hanging over the home. \nBetween the suspicious “forgetfulness pills” being handed out by the sinister Nurse Pat and the mysterious disappearances of their fellow residents\, Beatrice and the gang realize they have a mystery to solve. With the help of a retired Elvis impersonator and a frantic newcomer\, these ladies are determined to trade their walkers for wine glasses on the high seas—if they can stay out away from “the dark side” first! \nDon’t miss the shenanigans! Grab your tickets now before these broads sail away. \nPerformance Details: \nDates: Friday\, March 13 through Sunday\, March 21\, 2026. \nTimes: Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 PM | Sundays at 3:00 PM \nLocation: Actor’s Theatre Fairborn\, 23 E. SUMMARY:Bonnie & Clyde
DESCRIPTION:The story you know. The legend you don’t. 🥀 \nAt the height of the Great Depression\, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow went from two small-town nobodies in West Texas to America’s most renowned folk heroes and Texas law enforcement’s worst nightmares. Fearless\, shameless and alluring\, the Tony-nominated Bonnie & Clyde\, from the legendary Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde\, Civil War\, Dracula) is the electrifying story of love\, adventure and crime that captured the attention of an entire country. \nWhen Bonnie and Clyde meet\, their mutual cravings for excitement and fame immediately set them on a mission to chase their dreams. Their bold and reckless behavior turns the young lovers’ thrilling adventure into a downward spiral\, putting themselves and their loved ones in trouble with the law. Forced to stay on the run\, the lovers resort to robbery and murder to survive. As the infamous duo’s fame grows bigger\, their inevitable end draws nearer. \nBonnie & Clyde is a thrilling and sexy musical with a non-traditional score\, combining blues\, gospel and rockabilly music. It is a wonderful option for featuring large ensemble casts and an opportunity to showcase your strong contemporary singers and actors.

SUMMARY:Opening Exhibition works by Hannah Kasper
DESCRIPTION:The Blue House Gallery is excited to present “The 40th Trimester” by Hannah Kasper!  \nOpening Saturday March 14th from 6-9PM at The Blue House Gallery! \nExhibition runs March 14-April 11\, open hours Fridays 4-6 or by appt. \nFrom the Artist:\nMy work is about the relationship between interior and exterior worlds — the inner self versus the outer spaces we inhabit. I often use the idea of a theater\, with objects from my own life placed on the stage\, to represent personal and familial history. Current work has grown out of my experience of motherhood and having a body shaped by caregiving\, age\, and invisible labor. Grounded in a feminist perspective around visibility and value\, these paintings let me question who gets to be seen and how worth is constructed around those bodies. I am also interested in painting’s ability to investigate perception and illusion. From researching optical devices used in ancient theater\, I explore the use of the lens throughout art history\, and the eye as the original camera lens. Out of this stemmed imagery based on scans of my body. By representing the insides of my eyes and breasts\, I’m describing features that both invite and resist the gaze\, that alternately represent nurture\, comfort\, and desire. Paintings of my daughter’s eyes extend this inquiry beyond the self. They introduce a shared field of looking\, charged with care. To this end\, seeing — and painting — is embodied\, relational\, and continually shifting between what is revealed and what remains unseen.
