DESCRIPTION:The 6th Annual Juneteenth Commemoration\, Celebration\, and Concert returns to Levitt Pavilion Dayton on Friday\, June 19\, from 4:45 PM to 9 PM with this year’s theme: Legacy of Freedom III. \nPresented in partnership with Home of Urban Creative Arts\, this free community celebration centers education\, culture\, remembrance\, and joy through an evening of performances\, interactive experiences\, and live music in the heart of downtown Dayton. \n4:45 PM – 5:45 PM \nThe evening begins with the pre-show special “Boots on the Ground\,” featuring a short educational presentation and homage to local and national individuals who have fought and continue to fight for freedom\, followed by community Southern soul line dancing. \n6:00 PM – 7:30 PM \nThroughout the evening\, guests can experience African drumming and dance\, poetry\, heritage performances\, live audience participation moments\, a live choir\, food sculptures and culinary demonstrations\, face painting\, sound bowls\, massage chairs\, food trucks\, giveaways\, and more. \nFamilies can also explore the Mobile Bookstore\, receive free youth books while supplies last\, connect with local African American authors\, and engage with curated literacy-focused activities celebrating the power of reading\, storytelling\, and cultural preservation. \n7:30 PM – 9:00 PM \nThe night concludes with a featured concert performance by legendary Grammy-nominated R&B group Brownstone\, featuring a live band. Known for defining the sound of ’90s R&B with rich harmonies and timeless hits including “If You Love Me\,” “Grapevyne\,” and “5 Miles to Empty\,” Brownstone first rose to acclaim as Michael Jackson’s first signing to MJJ Music. \nToday\, the group continues to bring their signature soulful sound to audiences across the country\, connecting generations of R&B fans through powerful vocals and unforgettable live performances.

DESCRIPTION:Check out cool vintage cars\, beautiful urban gardens\, and charming homes all in one fun day in Grafton Hill Historic District! \n\n\n\n\nEvent is rain or shine. There is walking involved throughout the neighborhood. Last Tour at 2 pm. Event parking is at Dayton Masonic Center\, 525 W. Riverview Avenue\, on Belmonte Park East Just off of W. Riverview Avenue. \nTour features 8 historic homes and gardens one of which is nationally recognized by the Simthsonian and the Garden Club of America. The historic Commodore hi-rise\, recently renovated will also be open for tours and the historic Masonic Center. There will be historic cars set up throughout the event. There will be food on-site. \nGrafton Hill is a unique historic district just outside of Downtown Dayton. The mission of the Grafton Hill Association\, Inc.\, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization\, is to unite neighbors and the community in the preservation\, restoration and improvement of the Grafton Hill neighborhood in the city of Dayton\, Ohio. Ours is a neighborhood steeped in Dayton history. \nAt the turn of the twentieth century\, Grafton Hill was home to Dayton’s wealthiest businessmen\, and a gathering place for some of the inventors who put Dayton on the map–including Col. Edward Deeds\, the inventor (along with Charles Kettering) of the electric starter\, which revolutionized the automotive industry. Col. Deeds home and the historic “Deeds’ Barn” was originally located at 319 Central Avenue and now lives at Carillon Park. This invention has inspired us to include vintage cars in our home and garden tour this year! \nGrafton Hill today is a vibrant community filled with beautiful architecture and cultural landmarks such as the Dayton Art Institute\, Dayton Masonic Center and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Join in celebrating our neighborhood as we share it with Dayton on this landmark tour! \nEvent is rain or shine. There is walking involved throughout the neighborhood. Ticket sales end at 2 pm and Tour ends promptly at 4 pm. Event parking is at Dayton Masonic Center on Belmonte Park East Just off of W. Riverview Avenue.
