Posh Picnic guests will be ushered to the entrance of the estate by golf cart\, where they will be greeted in the courtyard with a flute of champagne and live music\, before exploring the first floor and terrace of the home to discover the beauty of the estate’s 16th century architecture and design. Guests will then stroll through a glorious tunnel of lush gardens and natural foliage before entering the sunken garden.   \nOn the picturesque back lawn\, a large white tent will be filled with gourmet bites from local restaurants and notable brands including delicious Italian food\, picnic-inspired sandwiches\, sweet treats and much more. There will also be plentiful craft beer\, wine\, mocktail and cocktail options for every attendee\, with VIP ticketholders additionally receiving a classic picnic basket filled with charcuterie\, fresh fruit\, a bundt cake\, cloth napkins\, and a few surprises!   \nGuests will additionally enjoy a plethora of colorful and botanic photo opportunities with plenty of seating available\, including picnic blankets\, garden benches and lounge spaces. Be sure to try your hand at a game of croquet in the sunken garden alongside numerous other lawn games found across the grounds. Garden Party attire and flat shoes are recommended. The event will be held rain or shine.  \nA portion of the event proceeds benefit the Cincinnati Nature Center. SUMMARY:9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
DESCRIPTION:As the nation approaches the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks\, the UD Arena will play host to the 11th annual LION Gem City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Sponsored by Dayton’s LION Group and presented by Premier Health\, registration is now open through September 12 at www.gemcityclimb.org. \nThis year’s climb will be held on Saturday\, September 13\, beginning at 9 AM at the University of Dayton Arena. The event welcomes everyone who wants to honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11\, 2001\, as well as those who have died since then. \nAll proceeds will go to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF). Funds raised from the LION Gem City 9/11 Stair Climb directly support the NFFF’s mission to honor our nation’s fallen firefighters\, support their families\, and reduce firefighter line-of-duty deaths and injuries across the fire service. The Foundation also provides scholarships\, peer support\, grief and mental health resources\, and crucial safety training to departments nationwide. \nThe LION Gem City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at UD Arena remains one of the largest events of its kind in the area. Since it began in Yellow Springs\, it has drawn nearly 3\,000 participants from the fire service community\, their families\, friends\, and the public\, who together have raised over $180\,000 for the NFFF. \nParticipants will climb the equivalent of 110 stories\, the height of the World Trade Center towers\, on the iconic steps of UD Arena. Each climber will carry an honor badge bearing the name and photo of one of the fallen firefighters and police officers\, symbolically completing the journey those heroes began. Upon completion\, climbers will ring a fire bell in solemn tribute. The climb is not a race but rather a moving tribute to the heroes of 9/11. (Participants are not required to climb the entire climb.)
