Featuring contemporary characters and imaginative plot twists\, this play offers a captivating view of a timeless love story.\nCharacter Breakdown:\n– EurydiceFemale presenting\, 18 to 25ish\, All races and ethnicities\nEurydice is naïve\, but is also curious\, truthful\, and has a love for books and a thirst for knowledge. Eurydice and Orpheus should be played as though they are a little too young and little too in love. After her premature death\, she is reunited with her loving father who helps her remember life as it was.\n\n\n– Her FatherMale presenting\, 35 to 55\, All races and ethnicities\nResident of the underworld\, he watches Eurydice from afar\, gently cares for her after her death\, and helps her remember details of her life. He is patient\, empathetic\, a good instructor and storyteller.\n\n\n– OrpheusMale presenting\, 20 to 30\, All races and ethnicities encouraged. Guitar or other Instrument ability experience preferred but not required.\nOrpheus is a renowned and talented musician and composer who prefers music to words and is very much in love with Eurydice. They are conniving\, vindictive\, slightly off\, but charming.\n\n\nA Chorus of StonesBig StoneLittle StoneLoud StoneAll genders\, races\, and ages welcome.\nThe chorus of stones reside in and are the guardians of the underworld and communicate with the audience as well as other characters. They represent the past\, present\, and future. They speak individually as well as a single entity. The stones might be played as though they are nasty children at a birthday party.

As their friendship blossoms\, sinister revelations unveil Eli’s chilling truth and eternal struggle.\nCharacter Breakdown (some actors will play multiple parts):\nOSKAR: (M) – His troubled home life and struggles with school bullies render him a quiet and vulnerable boy. His loneliness shifts when he finds a profound connection with Eli. 12-15\, but actor must be 18+.\nELI: (F) – Seems like an eccentric yet normal young girl but is in fact a centuries old vampire. Extremely agile. Can seem somewhat cold and distant but connects with Oskar. 12-15\, but actor must be 18+.\nHAKAN: (M) – Neighbors believe him to be Eli’s father\, but this is not the case. He loves Eli very deeply and will do anything for them. Anything. 40s-60s.\nMUM: (F) – Loves Oskar and is well-meaning but struggles with looking after him and resents his father’s post-divorce lack of involvement in his life. 30s-40s.\nJONNY: (M or F) – Classic school bully.
