Approximately 55,000 Expected Over Two April Weekend Championships

WGI Sport of the Arts World Championships returns to Dayton and southwest Ohio over two weekends in April. Between The Color Guard, Percussion and Wind World Championships, the events are expected to attract 55,000 people to the Dayton area, generating $20 million for the local economy, making it the largest annual convention our community hosts each year.  All events are taking place at UD Arena, Nutter Center, Cintas Area, or the Truist Arena.

Did you know WGI Sport of the Arts is a non-profit youth organization based in Miamisburg, Ohio?

Founded in 1977, WGI Sports of the Arts is the world’s premier producer of indoor color guard, percussion ensemble, and winds groups competitions. It is called the “Sport of the Arts” because it brings music to life through performance in a competitive format.  WGI competitions combine the athleticism of an Olympic event with the pageantry of a Broadway stage performance.
