This event invites families and fun-seekers of all ages to enjoy an evening of food, games, and imaginative adventure inside a beautifully themed setting.
The Blackwood Manor offers a fresh take on Halloween entertainment, focusing on shared experiences, creativity, and connection. Guests will enjoy a full dinner, interactive games, and the freedom to explore the Manor’s seven themed rooms, each filled with surprises designed to spark laughter and curiosity instead of scares.
“Dayton is ready for something different,” said Brett, co-creator of The Blackwood Manor. “Families are looking for a safe, family-oriented Halloween tradition that goes beyond candy and costumes. With the manor, we are not just giving them another event. We are inviting them into a whole new world. It is immersive, imaginative, and designed to bring the community together in a way that feels fresh and exciting.”
What to Expect at The Blackwood Manor
Every visit lasts about two hours and unfolds as a story-driven experience through seven themed spaces inside the Manor.
The Evening Begins with Dinner and a Game
Guests start their night with a delicious meal served in the Manor’s Great Hall, surrounded by moody lighting, costumed hosts, and elegant seasonal decor. After dinner, the entire room joins in Davey Jones’s Grid, a lively group game that gets guests laughing and sets the tone for the rest of the evening.
Menu and Refreshments
Each ticket includes dinner and dessert. Menu options feature meat or vegetarian lasagna, green beans, garlic bread, and ice cream. A children’s menu offering chicken nuggets and mac-and-cheese is also available. Complimentary drinks such as tea, lemonade, and water are included, while The Phantom’s Flask mocktail bar offers glowing, misty, non-alcoholic drinks for purchase.
Exploring the Manor
After dinner and the game, guests are free to wander through The Blackwood Manor at their own pace, uncovering hidden surprises and creative challenges in each themed room. Every corner offers a new experience, all designed to entertain rather than frighten.
● The Alchemist’s Challenge: Follow the clues and mix magical ingredients to complete the challenge.
● The Witch’s Apprentice: Try your hand at a spell-casting challenge to prove your magical mettle.
● The Blind Oracle’s Touch: Test your senses by identifying mystery objects through touch alone.
● The Scullery: Decorate a cookie with tasty ingredients, then grab a plastic pumpkin and make it your own.
● The Ooze Lab: A kid-favorite activity where you mix ingredients to create your own colorful “ooze.”
● The Scavenger Hunt: Explore all the rooms of the Manor in search of hidden items.
● The Shadow Market: Trade tokens and make clever deals in this playful game of barter, luck, and charm.
● The Relic Riddles: Solve word and logic puzzles scattered through the Manor to uncover secret relics.
● The Blackwood Auction: A lively, good-natured group bidding game that brings everyone together.
Family-Friendly Atmosphere
Costumes are encouraged but not required, and all ages are welcome. Guests 13 and older may not wear masks or hoods for safety reasons. The venue is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible, with free on-site parking.
