Dayton Codebreakers Film Screening

May 23 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free
Join Wright Library for a film about the brilliant, and until recently, highly classified achievements of Oakwood resident and WWII codebreaker, Joseph Desch. The hour-long film, Dayton Codebreakers, will be followed by a short presentation and Q&A.
Consider pre-watching The Imitation Game, the film about how Alan Turing and his team at Bletchley Park first cracked the WWII German Enigma code. Though not totally accurate, it sets the stage for Dayton Codebreakers. The Imitation Game is available from Wright Library in DVD, Blue Ray, and on Roku sticks or stream it on your own account with Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, Roku Channel, or Tubi.
Unsung Oakwood Heroes
This is brought to you in partnership with the citizen’s group, Unsung Oakwood Heroes, which is raising awareness of the local, national and international impact of Oakwood’s notable residents, starting with Joseph Desch.
