Dayton VA Women’s Clinic Renaming Ceremony and Celebration

June 12 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

The Dayton VA Medical Center is pleased to invite you to join us in celebrating the renaming of its Women’s Clinic to honor U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Charity Adams Earley. She was a tremendous force for equality in the military where she commanded the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion during World War II. She was also very active in the Dayton community to improve the lives of its citizens through education and advocacy.

The ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m. in front of building 341 (Women’s Clinic). In case of rain, we’ll hold the ceremony in the auditorium of building 305

Prior to the ceremony, we will be hosting two events:

Women Veterans Health Fair: Happening from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the picnic pavilion on our campus at the corner of Iowa Ave and Massachusetts Ave. We will have many Dayton VA services as well as community resources represented.

Documentary Screening: The documentary The SixTripleEight will be played continuously 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the auditorium of building 305. It spotlights Charity Adams Earley and the other women who made up the 6888th, the only all-black female battalion to serve in Europe during WWII.
