free screening of ALMOST FAMOUS

August 20 @ 7:30 pm

Free
The filmmakers behind the locally-produced movie CORNER STORE are hosting a free screening of ALMOST FAMOUS on Wednesday, August 20th at 7:30PM. The screening will be used to raise awareness of the CORNER STORE project and offer support opportunities. CORNER STORE will be filmed on-location at The Neon (!!) and around Dayton next year.
Reserve your FREE ticket by following the ticket link!
CORNER STORE tells the story of Cass (post-college) as she takes a service job at The Neon, a quaint independent movie theatre in Dayton, Ohio. While working there, she’ll go on a path of self-discovery as she explores what it takes to be creative, the importance of the families that you find, and the value of community.
The screening will show the CORNER STORE narrative short and a behind-the-scenes documentary (~15min total runtime) before screening ALMOST FAMOUS, the seminal coming-of-age story about a teenage journalist writing for Rolling Stone magazine in the early 1970s, touring with the fictitious rock band Stillwater, and writing his first cover story on the band. Featuring Billy Crudup, Frances McDormand, Kate Hudson, Patrick Fugit, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Writer/Director Ian Mullen (a former Neon employee!) will be in-person alongside Producer Lucas Settineri to introduce and discuss the CORNER STORE shorts before the screening.
