HitchHiker’s Street Photography Workshop

March 15 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$35

Beware the Ides of March… or embrace it with your camera in hand! Join us on Saturday, March 15, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, for a Street Photography Workshop on one of the quirkiest days of the yea that promises to be as lively as a Shakespearean drama (minus the backstabbing). Starting in the historic Oregon District, this workshop will have you capturing the spirit of downtown Dayton as spring returns to the midwest.

Did you know it’s also National Peanut Lovers Day? Feel free to bring along your favorite peanut-themed (or any other) snack for sustenance—we’ll be walking quite a bit. And if you’ve got any photographic secrets, confessions, or quirks, why not spill them? After all, it’s True Confessions Day too! We’re here to create, laugh, and learn together, so let’s make some memories (and maybe a little peanut butter).

Learn the art of capturing candid moments, telling compelling visual stories, and composing dynamic images amidst the energy of urban life. This hands-on experience will include plenty of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. March weather is unpredictable, so don’t forget a rain jacket or umbrella for yourself and protection for your camera gear. If the skies really let loose, we’ll move indoors to Storm Falcon Studios on 2nd Street to explore portable lighting techniques and how to master flash for on-location portraits. Drama? We’re ready for it.

Workshop Details:

  • Date: Saturday, March 15
  • Time: 3:00 to 5:00 PM
  • Location: Downtown Dayton, in the Oregon District parking lot next to Omega Music
  • Cost: $35 per person (plus ticketing fees)
  • Participants: Limited to 12

Whether you’re a beginner looking to explore street photography or a seasoned shooter aiming to sharpen your skills, this workshop offers the perfect blend of instruction, inspiration, and a good dose of fun. Don’t miss this chance to hone your craft, and maybe share a confession or two along the way. Spots are limited, so reserve yours today!
