Northmont FISH Celebrates 50 Years of Service

Northmont FISH (Friends In Service for Humanity) opened their doors in October of 1973. This year they are celebrating 50 years of service to the Northmont community.

On Monday, October 16 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Northmont FISH will celebrate this major milestone with a party. The festivities will include food trucks (Billie Gold Bubble Tea, Atlas & Co. Charcuterie and more) and an open house with tours of the FISH facilities. At 12 p.m. Mayor Thomas Franz of Englewood will make a proclamation declaring this day Northmont FISH day. The community is invited to come and celebrate.

Throughout the years the mission of Northmont FISH has remained the same, to facilitate life change by meeting foundational needs through nourishing relationships. Services offered includes a food pantry, clothing closet, Spanish translation, holiday meal boxes and more. Programming and services have evolved throughout the years to adjust to changing community needs. Their goal is to show people they care, that they have value, and that they are loved.

Northmont FISH is looking forward to the future and new ways to help the community. At the end of October, they will begin offering Mobile Dental Clinics in partnership with Primary Health Solutions. For registration information, go to northmontfish.org.
