The ARTery at Front Street Art Hop
April 5 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeDon’t miss Front Street’s ARTeBration, April 21st from 11a-4p! We’ll have an outdoor market, food trucks, beer garden, live music, even belt sander races. With all the hubbub outside, don’t forget to visit us in Building 100, B-C entrance on the 3rd floor! We’ll be waiting. Dayton Live is sponsoring a community project called “Kites Of Kindness” inviting people to create messages of hope and support for people suffering all over the world onto paper kite templates. The ARTery will have these paper kites available in the lobby outside our qallery for people to decorate on April 21st from 11am-4pm.
The ARTery welcome new member, Tami Beale, an oil painter who creates unique and colorfull abstract statement pieces that bring a little boldness into everyday life. Using a brushless technique, her art features bright colors and layers of texture.
Our Artist of the Month is Rosalie Campbell, a textile specialist with STUNNING woven clothing, scarves, table runners, and placemats – you name it, she can weave it. Rosalie also specializes in Shibori scarves, an ancient Japanese dye process. She’s been at it for 44 years and is a member of Weavers Guild of Miami Valley, Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati, and Midwest Weavers Guild. We also give Rosalie a special thanks for all the hard work she puts in as coordinator of the gallery. Watch for her work at local exhibits!
Our Visiting Artist of the Month remains Lynn Farley, wife of gallery photographer, Bob Farley. After observing her husband as he pursued his own craft, Lynn got her own gear and discovered a new world through a camera lens. While the Farleys have similar interests, they have different “eyes.” Lynn finds cities and urban images especially appealing and loves the variety these environments offer.
