The ARTery is a Co-op gallery of 16 artists and artisans with work on display including Painting, Photography, Mixed Media, Ceramics, Custom Jewelry, Woodworking, Fiber Art, EcoPringing and Sculpture with styles ranging form Traditional to Contemporary.

Our June Artist of the Month, Jeanne Rusnak Fehskens. A former professional textile designer, preschool art teacher, and floral designer, Fehskens creates mixed media artwork with an emphasis on EcoPrinting, a natural dyeing process using real leaves. Making art is a spiritual practice for Jeanne, allowing her to surrender to divine inspiration and the mystery of creation. Beginning with an EcoPrint, she uses paint, ink, and found objects to embellish her collage works. Jeanne often integrates subtle text of prayers or song lyrics in the backgrounds, which add texture and implied intention and meaning. Jeanne has exhibited locally at Edward Dixon Gallery, The Betty at Front Street, Springboro Performing Arts Center, Rosewood Arts Center, and Woodbourne Library. Jeanne currently has work in the members’ show at Springfield Museum of Art and will have artwork available at the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) fundraiser June 19th at The Brightside.

The ARTery’s June Visiting Artist is Erin M. Smith Glenn, who works in a variety of media and mixed media. A proud Central State University (CSU) alum, Erin also earned her MFA from the University of Cincinnati. In addition to Ohio, she has exhibited her works in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Vermont, Texas, Louisiana, and Illinois. In 2022, she was awarded Best in Show at an exhibit hosted collaboratively by the Pendleton Arts Center and the Clifton Cultural Arts Center in Cincinnati. The work, a painting of her daughter is titled, New Woman. Erin’s works, along with interviews, can be found in magazines and online, including Create! Magazine, and The Layered Onion, a social benefit organization where art and mental health intersect. She has publicly installed works in downtown Dayton, Dayton Public Schools and in CSU’s Foundation Hall II. Erin vows to “never stop growing as an artist and individual.”
