This free, public event will be moderated by Miami Valley writer and educator Gary Mitchner.

Fountain was recognized by the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Foundation in 2013 as a Fiction Runner-up for his novel, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, a hilarious and heartbreaking story of an Iraq War hero whose squad appears in a Dallas Cowboys halftime show as part of an effort to rekindle support for the war. Fountain has since released Beautiful Country Burn Again based on the 2016 presidential election, and most recently, Devil Makes Three, a New York Times Editors’ Choice about greed, power, and American complicity set in Haiti.
The November 8th event at Wright Library is made possible with support from the Wright Memorial Library Foundation and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Foundation.
Wright Library’s Community Room seating capacity is 80, so please arrive early to ensure your seat and register for the prize drawing. The interview will also be livestreamed through Zoom with a link available at wrightlibrary.org/events
