It will be a stinking good time Saturday as GarlicFest will be held downtown at Courthouse Square from noon – 8m. With 17 food vendors serving up garlic inspired meals, food trucks will be lined across Third Street between Main and Ludlow. You’ll find KungFu BBQ, The Painted Pepper, The Forking Pierogi, Billie Gold Bubble Tea, Lil Tiki, Twisted Greek, Top’s Best Foods, Phebes Cafe, The Lumpia Queen, The Wild Banana, Funnel Cakes and more.
Jubie’s Creamery has created a black garlic honey ice cream especially for the festival!
And in between eating the garlic goodies, you can shop over 30 craft vendors who will be selling fresh garlic, spices, honey products, bath and beauty products, tumblers, mystical gems and so much more.
From noon to 4pm Kids Lot will be keeping the littles entertained with arts and craft projects inspired by garlic and other activities that include garlic bulbs.
At 1pm Heather from Mucky Boots Farm will be giving a Garlic 101 talk from the stage at Courthouse Square. Learn about the different types of garlic, how to grow it and when to harvest in your own garden.
At 3pm the Mamma DiSalvo’s Meatball Eating Contest will take place on the stage. The winner will be the eater that devours the most meatballs in two minutes and walks away with a Mamma DiSalvo’s gift card.
Garlic lovers should register for the annual Mad River Garlic Growers garlic eating contest kicks off. Each contestant will be give a garlic bulb and have two minutes to eat as many cloves as possible- winner walks with $100. This takes place at 5pm.
There will be some seating available, but guests are encouraged to bring chairs and perhaps even breath mints. Please do not bring animals.
