Murder of Crows

An exhibition of new work by fiber artist Sharen Eninger, presented by We Care Arts in their gallery at 3035 Wilmington Pike, Berkeley Center, Kettering, OH 45429
The Inspiration
“Many years ago, I saw a murder of crows walking across a country field in rural Ohio. I didn’t stop to take a photo, but the image has stuck with me all these years. I knew I was retiring as a teacher and to end my career at We Care, I wanted to do an exhibit of new work. At this time of my life, I wanted to do work that I was excited about from the moment I woke up in the morning. From that, Murder of Crows was invented.”
About the Artist
Sharen Eninger started taking classes at Sinclair Community College in Dayton at age 40. She found the art department after attending general classes for more than a year. Once she found the art department it became her home. She was amazed that she could have a career in art. “It made my heart beat faster,” she said, “I knew I had permission to learn to do all of this.” Sharen graduated from Sinclair in 1993.
Sharen operated an art studio and gallery in Waynesville, Ohio for seven years. She had art shows for emerging artists and taught them how to create and show their own work.
For 25 years, Sharen taught sewing and a wide variety of arts classes including fiber arts, mixed media, and studio art at We Care Arts in Kettering, Ohio. Sharen will retire on August 31, 2023. Sharen and her late husband, Paul, raised three sons in Warren County, Ohio. Sharen now resides in Lebanon Ohio.

The exhibition opening is Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. Admission is free. You can also see the show during regular We Care Arts hours, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Saturday and Sunday.
