The Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County will operate a sobriety checkpoint tonight Friday, June 23, in Dayton. The checkpoint will begin at 9pm in the area of North Gettysburg Avenue and Kings Highway. Dayton police officers, along with officers from the combined Agency Task Force, will conduct a roadside check of drivers for alcohol and drug impairment.In 2016, there were 596 alcohol-related crashes in Montgomery County alone. Those crashes took the lives of 14 people and injured 273. Driving while impaired could cost your life, or the lives of others. The majority of the deadliest crashes occur on weekends.
Operational support for the checkpoint will be provided by law enforcement officers from the Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County.
