Valerie Elementary School, 3871 Yellowstone Ave., Dayton, will have bottled water and outlets for people to charge cell phones. The school will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Restrooms are not available because the school does not have water pressure.
A Wireless Emergency Communication Center (WECC) was set up by @verizon It has device charging & computer workstations, wireless phones, tablets & other devices to contact friends, family & other important contacts. The WECC is at Red Cross Shelter, 700 S. James H McGee Blvd.
Potable water will be available at Gateway Cathedral, 5501 Olive Road, Trotwood, at 8 a.m. Thursday. DaVita Dialysis Centers is donating 4,000 gallons of potable water. Please bring containers to get drinkable water.
Thomas A. Cloud Memorial Park in Huber Heights has a water station with hoses set up for anyone who needs water. People can stop by day or night and fill containers by turning on the valve. Please make sure to turn the valve off once you are done. The water station is at the back end of the softball diamond parking lot.
The Dayton Art Institute is offering free admission Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Charging stations will still be available at Leo Bistro and DP&L will distribute ice from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The American Red Cross is operating shelters at Morton Middle School, 8555 Peters Pike, Vandalia for 68 people; The Ridge Church, 7555 Brookville-Phillipsburg Road, for 16 people; and Corinthian Baptist Church, 700 N. James H. McGee, for 52 people. The sites also are providing food, water and supplies to those in need.
The Trotwood Fire & Rescue Department has bottled water and ice at Station 72, 5469 Little Richmond Road. It will be available 24-hours a day until further notice.

Kroger will host a free community cookout for Dayton-area storm victims affected by Monday night’s tornadoes and severe weather. The event is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Kroger store at 3520 W. Siebenthaler Ave. in Harrison Twp.
Diversite Salon, 37 Hillside Court in Englewood, is offering free shampoos, showers, bottled water and food until power and water comes back on for area residents. The salon is located near Brookville and Trotwood.
George’s Family Restaurant, 5216 N. Dixie Drive, is giving away free food and water. The restaurant if without power and the owner, Elesha Snyder, plans to grill the food and give it away as long as it lasts.
The Barrel House, 417 E. Third St. in Dayton has free bottled water.
Sinclair Community College has free bottled water available on the Dayton campus. The free water can be found at: Building 7 in the library loggia; Building 8 in the basement; Building 14 walkway; Building 20 lobby and at 37 Eaker St.
