From food truck to bricks and mortar, another popular food truck is making the leap.  This Tuesday, July 17th at 11am The Vistro will open their doors at 3937 Linden Ave. This location has housed many ethnic restaurants in the past, most recently Al-Mandi, but before one of my favorite ethnic eateries Antojitos Criollos, which served Puerto Rican food.

The transition from food truck to restaurant was always the plan shares Owner Myger Nguyen.  He is very passionate about honoring his family recipes, keeping the Vietnamese dishes he serves authentic and using only the freshest ingredients.

Judging by the dishes we’ve sampled from his food truck, which include a great bahn mi- the traditional Vietnamese sandwich introduced by the French missionaries during the colonial period.  It is a thin, flaky and airy french bread served with grilled or roasted meats and fresh hers and vegetables.  The most popular is the barbeque pork, but you can also chose chicken, shrimp or beef.  Oh and be warned -this sandwich has a kick to it!

Also popular are their noodle salads – vermicelli noodles, cilantro, bean sprouts, onions, mint, pickled carrots, fresh cucumber slices, jalapenos served in a zesty sweet and spicy asian vinaigrette, with the option to add your favorite protein.  And of course they’ll have noodle soups aka Pho.

According to their Facebook page they will be “doing a limited menu for the rest of July but rest assured we will have everyone’s favorites Noodle Soups, Noodle Salads, Sandwiches and Rice Bowls!! Starting August 1st they will have a full menu!”

One more thing, the eatery is BYOB.  So bring your favorite adult beverage and enjoy your meal  at The Vistro: Modern Vietnamese!
And yes, the food truck will continue to be out and about.

She credits Leadership Dayton for exposing her to the amazing assets of the region and Clothes That Work for being her reason she stayed in Dayton. Her proudest accomplishment as a past president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association was creating Restaurant Week, a twice a year tradition that continues to grow and benefit local charities as well. As a foodie, it's only natural that she continues to promote local restaurateurs with DaytonDining.

As a Dayton Catalyst, her desire to have ONE community calendar and advocate for the amazing assets of the region helped create the vision for the relaunch of DaytonMostMetro, now Dayton 937.com
