You may know her from her time as chef and proprietor of Hawthorn Grill in Kettering.  She’s been a food blogger, caterer and was the 2016 Champion of Dayton’s Chef Showdown and now Candace Rinke has launched cooking classes as part of her company Full Frontal Entertaining.  She shares, ” I’m so excited to offer a chance to share with you all the knowledge I gained in my time as a restaurant owner and chef!”  We asked her what inspired that name and she shared the definition for “Full Frontal” is without holding back and that’s how she feels when she is teaching about food.

If you always wanted to learn to cook, but never had the opportunity to go to cooking school, now’s your chance and Candace will make it fun, informative to learn in-person with hands-on  classes.

She’s opened her home kitchen for classes of up to 4 students. Each student gets their own station with all the tools and ingredients needed to make a meal. Classes are geared for beginners and will start with the basics, like how to hold a knife. If the students are more experienced they’ll move on quickly.

Chef Candace will lead you through the making of the meal, with plenty of time to taste it and discuss food, wine pairings, cooking techniques, products for the home kitchen and so much more. Then  you’ll leave with the printed recipes for the meals and the know-how to recreate them at home. In addition, you’ll also have an entire meal for FOUR PEOPLE packaged up and ready to take to your own family or friends!

About Lisa Grigsby

Lisa Grigsby is a Special Events Director with over thirty years experience in promotions, event coordination and public relations.

Owning Jokers Comedy Cafe for 20 years taught Lisa to maintain a sense of humor under pressure. She credits Leadership Dayton for exposing her to the amazing assets of the region and Clothes That Work for being her reason she stayed in Dayton. Her proudest accomplishment as a past president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association was creating Restaurant Week, a twice a year tradition that continues to grow and benefit local charities as well. As a foodie, it's only natural that she continues to promote local restaurateurs with DaytonDining.

As a Dayton Catalyst, her desire to have ONE community calendar and advocate for the amazing assets of the region helped create the vision for the relaunch of DaytonMostMetro, now Dayton 937.com
