Chef Pearson opened The Sugar Guild Bakery & Cafe in District Provisions building on Wayne Avenue last fall. The eatery slowly built a reputation for their amazing Chai Latte GIANT snickerdoodles and truly decadent cinnamon rolls.
But today she posted on their Facebook Page:
“The Sugar Guild will be closing. We will not open this weekend. This is both heart breaking and unexpected. Not sure what the future holds but we know it’s not over ty Dayton”
We reached out to her for a statement, and she said, “I just can’t talk right now. I’ve lost my dream.”
We wish Claire and her crew the best of luck in the next chapter and can’t wait for another of those amazing cinnamon rolls.
Guest are already mourning the loss of the eatery on their Facebook page:
