Since the 1960’s El Greco’s Pizza Villa has been a hot spot on Salem Ave in Trotwood.  In more recent years it’s been a destination as most the of plaza it’s located in is empty.  Know for its unique flavors,  it’s menu features Mexican, greek, pizza, Italian, and some American dishes. Their pizza is square sliced local style crust with finely ground sausage and pepperoni under generous amounts of provolone cheese. Regulars have still been coming out to enjoy the thin crust pizza or Taco Tuesday, featuring 99 cent tacos, in nicer wether the patio is often packed.

But according to their Facebook page, the end is near for El Greco:

“Our dear, loyal customers, our last day will be Saturday, Dec. 22. This was not an easy decision by any means as I’ve spent most of my life in Greco’s. It’s also been a staple in many of your own lives’. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t hear a story from you. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your loyalty, your memories, and your stories! I would also like to thank my Greco’s family, current as well as those from past years. Their love for Greco’s, loyalty and commitment has always astounded me. I would love to see a new leader take the helm to continue this long standing tradition. It’s not easy by any means, but very fulfilling. We’ve always been the place people come home to, and it’s an important job and would require a love for Greco’s and all it represents. Change is never easy so please keep us in your prayers.”

You’ve still got time to visit and relive a piece of Dayton history before they close the doors. And just maybe they’ll share the recipe for their famous house salad dressing before they go.

Owning Jokers Comedy Cafe for 20 years taught Lisa to maintain a sense of humor under pressure. She credits Leadership Dayton for exposing her to the amazing assets of the region and Clothes That Work for being her reason she stayed in Dayton. Her proudest accomplishment as a past president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association was creating Restaurant Week, a twice a year tradition that continues to grow and benefit local charities as well. As a foodie, it's only natural that she continues to promote local restaurateurs with DaytonDining.

As a Dayton Catalyst, her desire to have ONE community calendar and advocate for the amazing assets of the region helped create the vision for the relaunch of DaytonMostMetro, now Dayton 937.com
