Randy Combs, and his wife Gloria own the Spicey Rooster BBQ CO. Their food trailer is called the Rooster Coop.
Randy has been cooking his entire life, watching and learning from his grandmother’s and  mom. While he was in high school he worked at a Rax that was in Dayton.  He first  stepped into the food world  creating his own line of hot sauces, bbq sauces, and rubs.
He and his wife  have been cooking/catering for close to twenty years. I’ve been doing bbq for longer. They started with a canopy, and a custom grill they pulled behind their truck. Two years ago they decided to have a trailer built and that has allowed them to  expanded what they do.
Their  most popular sellers, are  brisket, bbq ribs, and basically anything Randy bbq’s. He’s created dishes using brisket, and  also some oriental bbq dishes. He loves to create culinary experiences through fusing different ethnic foods. Too many people want “Texas” bbq. He told us he doesn’t model what he does after Texas. He says, “my bbq is mine, with much more flavor without a smokey after taste.”  They also offer lots more than BBQ: Hungarian cabbage rolls, pulled pork, smoked sausage, brats w kraut, meatball hoagies, soft pretzels w cheese and chili just to name a few options.

About Lisa Grigsby

Lisa Grigsby is a Special Events Director with over thirty years experience in promotions, event coordination and public relations.

Owning Jokers Comedy Cafe for 20 years taught Lisa to maintain a sense of humor under pressure. She credits Leadership Dayton for exposing her to the amazing assets of the region and Clothes That Work for being her reason she stayed in Dayton. Her proudest accomplishment as a past president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association was creating Restaurant Week, a twice a year tradition that continues to grow and benefit local charities as well. As a foodie, it's only natural that she continues to promote local restaurateurs with DaytonDining.

As a Dayton Catalyst, her desire to have ONE community calendar and advocate for the amazing assets of the region helped create the vision for the relaunch of DaytonMostMetro, now Dayton 937.com
