Ms. Betty’s Kitchen open Wed, Sept 28th at 4200 S.  Kettering Blvd, in the spot that once was home to Granny’s 4200 Place.  Ms. Betty’s is a family run business, using their matriarch, Ms. Betty’s recipes to keep her memory alive.   There ‘s a large photo of Ms. Betty Champion on the wall surrounded by smaller family photo’s as well. Steven Champion told us he learned to cook from his mother, who got him his first job in a kitchen.  He’s run kitchens for businesses and his church before opening this spot.

Upon arrival I was welcomed by Trey Moon, who handed me a menu and explained that each day features a different menu, and that all food is cooked to order.  His Aunt was in the kitchen cooking with his Godfather Steven and that while orders are packed to go, I was welcome to eat there.  When I arrived there were several groups seating on the couches waiting for their carryout food and a couple of tables eating in.

Here’s a quick synopsis of the daily menu options:

Lisa Grigsby is a Special Events Director with over thirty years experience in promotions, event coordination and public relations.

Owning Jokers Comedy Cafe for 20 years taught Lisa to maintain a sense of humor under pressure. She credits Leadership Dayton for exposing her to the amazing assets of the region and Clothes That Work for being her reason she stayed in Dayton. Her proudest accomplishment as a past president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association was creating Restaurant Week, a twice a year tradition that continues to grow and benefit local charities as well. As a foodie, it's only natural that she continues to promote local restaurateurs with DaytonDining.

As a Dayton Catalyst, her desire to have ONE community calendar and advocate for the amazing assets of the region helped create the vision for the relaunch of DaytonMostMetro, now Dayton 937.com
