Chef Jo and her husband Stan drew their business plan out on a napkin in Ghost Light Coffee in 2014. That October, The Little City Cooking School opened its doors in Oakwood.

Today she posted this on her facebook page:
Over the years, thousands of you have come to cook and laugh with us. We could never have been as successful without you. Even after 4 and a half months of closed doors due to Covid, you all came back! Our hearts are filled with gratitude that our business survived since many small businesses did not.
As we grew, we were blessed with amazing staff. Our Chefs and Prep Chefs are the best and have been so crucial in giving you great evenings of cooking at TLCCS.
Stan and I will be retiring as of Jan 1 2023. I’ve entered my 70th year (how did that happen!) and it’s time for us to step down from this wonderful little gem of a business. Because it has been so successful and enjoyable, we wanted to let all of our dear customers know of this business opportunity. We would love to see TLCCS keep bringing the community excellent cooking experiences. We are hoping to sell our home and business together, but we see this business having great growth potential in the future in another location. Believe me, if I were younger, I’d take it there!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you’ve given us in fulfilling a little plan from a napkin years ago.
Blessings,
Chef Jo
