A ribbon cutting will be held with City of Dayton Commissioners, Dillin Corp & Wright Dunbar, Inc. (WDI) for W. Social Tap & Table on Monday, July 25, 2021, 11am at 1100 W Third Street, Dayton OH 45402. W. Social Tap & Table is a joint venture between Wright Dunbar, Inc., and Dillin Corp.

This $2.1 million dollar project will be the first food hall in Dayton.  The former 6685 Square foot conference center will have 5 local independent restaurants, coffee & bar with indoor and outdoor dining.  The project has been in the predevelopment stage since 2019 in collaboration with WDI and Wright-Dunbar Village Neighborhood Association.  “Dillin Corp. has been a great partner to work with from day one.  Larry Dillin understood the desire to bring quality food to West Dayton and support our local entrepreneurs”, said Jeff Jackson, Neighborhood President.

The Lumpia Queen and the Mayor

Construction began mid July 2021.  W. Social is located adjacent to the National Aviation Heritage Historical Park in the Historic Wright Dunbar Business District.  The goal of this project is to bring much needed food choices to West Dayton while supporting local entrepreneurs. W. Social will also support the growing residential neighborhood as well as the continued growth, investment, and redevelopment of the business district. “This project is perfectly aligned with the City’s asset-based development approach which focuses on development that builds community capacity and leverages private investment,” said Veronica Morris, Senior Economic Development Supervisor for the City of Dayton.

Funded through private investment, equity, and City of Dayton West Dayton Development Trust Fund.  Local lending partner Wright-Patt Credit Union.

The Wright Dunbar Food Hall  opened for business on Monday, July 25th at 7am for coffee from Grindhouse Coffee and breakfast from Soca Carribean.  The remaining restaurants and bar will open at 11am after a ribbon cutting with the Mayor, City Officials and the developers/owners of W. Social.

Illy’s Fire Pizza, The Lumpia Queen, Taco Street and De’Lish will serve up food to the public from 11a-9p daily, with later hours on the weekends. Grindhouse and Soca will be open from 7a-10a for breakfast with Grindhouse winding down at 4p. The bar will be open from 11-9p daily with later hours on the weekend. Sunday is beer and wine sales only.
“We are ready for today!”, said Rob Barry, General Manager of W. Social. “Everyone has worked hard on their menus and the staff is ready to meet their regulars!”
W. Social will hold a Grand Opening block party on Friday, August 5th featuring live music from Distant Cousinz with opener Top Secret along with dessert food trucks on the street and other exciting surprises. The event, managed by Dillin Events Team, is free to the public and attendees are encouraged to bring a chair. Williams street will be closed for the festivities, but online ordering from the restaurants inside W. Social will be available to everyone.
“It is beyond awesome to experience W. Social in all its glory”, said Jeff Jackson, local neighborhood HOA President and Wright Dunbar Inc board member. “It’s great to have this vibe right here in the Wright Dunbar neighborhood!”
