Mamma DiSalvo

Mamma DiSalvo’s 44 years and still dishin’ up the goods!

June 23, 2023 By Jim Bucher

Chef Roberto and Mamma

Rinaldo and Elena DiSalvo opened Mamma DiSalvo’s Italian Ristorante and began serving  on June 8, 1979 with assistance from Elena parents Pasquale and Bambina Bernardo (Now, that’s Italian!) began serving mamma’s secret family recipes from the Abruzzi-Molise Region – one of ITALY’S Best Kept secrets. It is our passion to provide your family with the best authentic Italian Food in Dayton, heck maybe in the country. AND WE MEAN IT!

Coming from Italy’s best kept secret region. Chef Roberto and his wife Shari, along with kids Vincenzo, Abigale, and grandson Luca, they all pitch in to continue the traditions.

While the business has grown over the years, their traditions remain using the same recipes. They’ve remodeled a little bit here and there, but if you haven’t dined with the DiSalvo’s lately the deliciousness has not changed. And you know what they say, ‘if it aint broke why on earth mess with perfection.

Son (Roberto) Bobby wants to take this time to thank all his guests. Without them there would be no Mamma’s world-famous pasta dishes and don’t forget the sauce which is magnifico . And, the meatballs. Don’t get me started on the meatballs. WOW. Ship me around three dozen frozen. That should take care of lunch. Then save some bread for dipping and wiping clean the bowls.

Chef Roberto thanks everyone for dining at DiSalvo’s for the past 44 years. Bobby  was just a baby stirring the sauce, with mamma’s guidance of course. By the way, you can get sauce to go or pick up at most of your local grocery stores.

Or how about this … you’ve moved out of town but still crave that little bit of home. Mamma’s ships sauce, dressing and just about everything in-between. Also, depending on what state, DiSalvo’s can pack and ship a little vino for your meals. Heck for the right price they may include Chef Roberto to do the cooking!
