Families can explore the wonders of the Dayton Art Institute for FREE this summer, by borrowing a Family Membership from the Dayton Metro Library! Starting July 1, DAI Family Memberships will be available for checkout at all branches of the Dayton Metro Library.
A Family Membership includes access to The Lange Family Experiencenter, collection galleries and special exhibitions for up to two adults and up to eight children. (Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.)
Each branch of the Dayton Metro Library system will have five Family Memberships available for checkout, stored in CD cases. When the CD case is presented at the DAI, admission tickets will be issued. If all passes are checked out of the Library, patrons may place a reserve on the next available. Memberships are checked out for three weeks, and are not renewable. Visitors can return to the DAI as often as they like during the three-week loan period. They are also eligible for a 25% discount on official DAI membership during the loan period.
“We are happy to offer library patrons free access to the wonderful collections at the Dayton Art Institute,” said Library Executive Director Tim Kambitsch. “It’s a natural fit. The Library is a place for discovery and inspiration, and certainly the Art Institute is as well.”
This is just the latest collaboration between the two venerated Dayton institutions. The Library and the DAI have also partnered on Reimagining Works, a project that places original artwork created by regional artists into each new or newly remodeled Dayton Metro Library location.
