Friday, Feb 7th from 5-9pm is the Grand Opening of B&Gs Cigar Lounge located at 319 West Central Avenue in West Carrollton. Well actually according to co-owner Gonzo, this celebration is for Phase One of the business, which consists of the humidor (pictured below) and the first lounge, called the Casa de Coronas (which translates to house of crowns). Comfy chairs allow you to watch your favorite game in a relaxed environment and there are plenty of tables for a game of dominos or cards.
A fine selection of over 700 premium cigars awaits your selection in the humidor and you don’t need to be intimidate, they are happy to help you find the right one for you. Gonzo explains that determining the right cigar, be it mild, medium, or full flavored, is often based on your palate, which can change based on your most recent meal, and other factors, like whether you are well hydrated or not.
Phase two of the 8000 square foot building will come mid-summer, adding two private seating areas and more lounge space.
There’s even room for future expansion, should they determine they need more space.
Co-owners Bryan Emerson and Gonzo Gonzales met in 2003, when they served in Korea. Together they will strive to make B&G’s a home away from home for cigar lovers, or as Gonzo says, “a place where you can come in grab a quality stick and enjoy it in the lounge.” You can purchase a cigar for as little as $4 and currently the most expensive one the stock runs $22, but they’ll soon be adding some higher end cigars, which will retail for about $40. While you always hear about the excellence of Cuban cigars, Gonzo shared that “Nicaragua is making some cigars that are being well received world-wide right now.”
They also have a full selection of cutters, lighters and even home humidors which from from $50 – $250 and gift certificates are available. Look for upcoming cigar tastings, bourbon pairings and other events in the future.
