The Helena Street Bridge replacement project is set to begin on Tuesday, November 1. The bridge will be closed to traffic at 9 a.m. that day. A posted detour will direct motorists to use Ridge Avenue, Embury Park Drive, North Keowee Street and Stanley Avenue.
The new Helena bridge is expected to open by December 1, 2017. It will be built by the Eagle Bridge Company at a cost of approximately $6 million and will include wider sidewalks and improved lighting.
