The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery presents an exciting new camp program that bridges the gap for parents and teachers interested in helping youngsters learn in these challenging times.
Camp is an experience that allows children to explore topics that interest them, interact with others that 
also share those interests, and allows them to be kids and have fun!
The Museum’s Education Department organized a new, compelling summer enrichment program—Camp in a Box!
Camp in a Box is offered in two formats for a week of science investigations that are completed at home. The Basic Kit provides the materials and directions needed to allow a camper to work at their own pace independently, without the need of a computer.
“Our museum has been increasing the depth of our content and
our ability to deliver quality audio/visual experiences over the
past year. We are well positioned to ramp up quickly to be able to serve more children and families during this time,” acknowledged Dayton Society of Natural History President and CEO, Tracey Tomme.”
The Digital Kit includes everything in the Basic Kit, as well as a live interaction with an instructor, other campers that are enrolled, and special experiences tailored to their camp theme. It also includes field trips, behind the scenes adventures, and other opportunities of learning and discovery each day. All this is completed through their computer’s webcam. 
Camp in a Box can be shipped directly to your home, or can be picked up from the Museum.
“I believe the need for distance learning experiences will continue well beyond the virus. Our goal is to create and deliver over the internet and out of the box, programs that are just as engaging as being here in person,” added Ms. Tomme.

and includes a special member’s only discount. Scholarship opportunities are also available, and information is available on the Museum’s website.
