A new Chinese restaurant snuck into the Dayton area recently. Hua Mei Restaurant, at 400 Fuyao Avenue in Moraine opened their doors on September 1, 2023, the location of Taste of the World. Taste of the World had shuttered during the beginning of the COVID pandemic. The restaurant served as the commissary for the Fuyao Glass plant.
There is now a bigger white on blue sign proclaiming Hua Mei Restaurant. According to the manager, they will serve the same role for Fuyao as Taste of the World. They were not advertising to the general public as they were ramping up their operations to serve Fuyao.

Their menu is quite impressive, covering the gamut of Chinese American favorites as well as authentic Fuzhou cuisine. The restaurant building and dining area did not change at all, the décor is still understated and comfortable, with three private dining rooms available for reservation. There are also seasonal specialty dishes written in Chinese written on a white board hanging on the wall next to the front counter.
