Walk into the room and it looks almost absurd: a couple hundred people dancing their hearts out in what sounds, to your bare ears, like total silence. Then you slip on a pair of headphones, spin the dial, and the whole thing snaps into focus. Suddenly everyone is dancing to the same song. Or three different ones. And somehow it all works.
This Friday, June 5th, Dayton Silent Disco turns that joyful weirdness up a notch with a Pride edition at The Brightside.
Three DJs, three channels, one very colorful room
The format is the heart of the whole thing. Three DJs spin simultaneously on three color-coded channels, and you flip between them on your headphones to build your own night. Don’t like what’s playing? Turn the dial. Found your jam? Look around — everyone glowing the same color is right there with you.
