It’s Opening Day for the 166th Montgomery County Fair

NEW BEGINNINGS, NEW MEMORIES, NEW LOCATION

The Montgomery County Agricultural Society Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 166th edition of THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY FAIR July 9-15, 2018 at our new location 645 Infirmary Road. U.S. Route 35W Connector (C.J. McLin Jr. Parkway) to Infirmary Road.

The 7-day run begins with the Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony today Monday,July 9, 10:30am with MIX 107.7’s morning show co-host Kristi Leigh handling emcee duties. 

Monday, July 9, is also Veteran’s/Senior Citizen’s Day (1/2 price admission all day!) and our popular ‘Pie Baking Contest’ at high noon with celebrity judges: Montgomery County Commissioner Dan Foley, MIX 107.7’s Kristi Leigh, Frye Guy from K99.1 FM, Neil ‘Hutch’ Konerman from WDTN Ch. 2 Sports and Montgomery County Agricultural Society Board President John Yancik.

MONDAY – JULY 10

9:00am- 7:00pm: Jr. Fair swine showmanship, pee/wee showmanship, Jr. Fair meat rabbit show, Jr. Fair rabbit showmanship, Jr. Fair sheep showmanship, lead class & pee/wee showmanship, FFA Crop & Shop project judging, Jr. Fair sheep breeding and market lamb show.

10:30am– Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies.

Noon– Peach Pie Baking Contest.

1:00pm to 5:00pm and 6:00pm to 10:00pm– Big O Amusement’s Rides.

7:00pm– 70/75 Cover Band performs in entertainment tent.

7:00pm– Pie & Cake Auction.

7:00pm– Motocross on the event track.

 

TUESDAY – JULY 10

10am – ALL Buildings Open to Public

1pm – Jr. Fair Market Turkey then Mkt. Chicken Judging in coops

1pm – Open Swine Show

3:30pm – Jr. Fair Market Poultry Championships

4pm –  Jr. Fair Market Goat Showmanship followed by Market and Breeding Goat Show

7pm –  KOI Drag Racing, Event Track

7pm – Blue Carma, Entertainment Tent

WedDAY – JULY 10

10am – ALL Buildings Open to Public

11am – Jr Fair Fancy Poultry Show

1pm – Jr Fair Dairy Goat and Exotic Doe Goat Showmanship, PeeWee Showmanship, Dairy & Exotic Breeding Does

2pm –  Jr. Fair Poultry Championships

6pm –  Jr. Fair Barrow & Gilt Show

7pm –  DCTPA Truck/Tractor Pull, Event Track

7pm –  Five Points Cloggers, Entertainment Tent

10:30pm – 1am –  Jr Fair Market Hogs Not Selling Released


THURSDAY – JULY 12

10am –  ALL Buildings Open to Public

1pm – Jr. Fair Awards Program, Entertainment Tent

3pm –  Jr. Fair Beef Showmanship

4pm –  Open Beef Breeding Show

5pm –  Jr. Fair Rabbit & Poultry Sales; Sale Order: Meat Rabbits, Market Turkeys, Market Chickens

6pm – Jr. Fair Beef Breeding, Feeder Calves and Steer Show

7pm –  Tug-A-Trucks, Event Track

7pm –  Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, Entertainment Tent

8pm –  Showman of Showman Meeting


FRIDAY – JULY 13

SATURDAY – JULY 14

Honoring: Sheriff Phil Plummer

10am –  ALL Buildings Open to Public

11am –  4-H Horse Demonstration

12noon – “Kaleidoscope” radio variety show (Faith And Friends Radio.Com), Entertainment Tent

1pm –  4-H Dog Show

5pm –  King and Queen Contest, Entertainment Tent

7pm –  Flashback Band, Entertainment Tent

7pm – Rodeo, Horse Arena

8-11pm. – Jr. Fair DanceUpgrades to the facility include underground utilities ready for future

Admission is $10 per person which includes grandstand events and plenty of free parking. Youngsters 6 and under free with paying adult.

The all new Fairgrounds & Event Center of Montgomery County phase one of the project consists of two state of the art buildings, Main Event Center (26,000 sq. ft.) and an Exhibit Hall (16,000 sq. ft.) All climate controlled for year-round use.

The fairgrounds are located on a portion of Arthur O. Fisher Park located at645 Infirmary Road. Dayton, Ohio.
The Park was named after the beloved judge and community leader.
