Third generation cheesemonger Annie Foos, is the founder of St Anne’s Cheese Co., a cheese Education and distribution business in the Historic neighborhood of Saint Anne’s Hill.
She wants to guide you through a farm experiences to meet the animals and see how cheese is made straight from the farm to your plate. You can choose from goat or cow cheese in an afternoon or an entire day experience. Check out these options:
Educational Family Farm Day: Goat Farm
FRIDAY, APRIL 30TH | 2-6pm or FRIDAY, JUNE 4TH | 2-6pm
Experience begins with a 2 hour Cheese-making Class. Includes a late afternoon taste test and snack. At 5 pm, goat milking begins. You will be taught how to milk and feed the herd of goats at the farm.
Farm to Table Private Cheese making Experience: Goat Farm
SATURDAY, MAY 1ST | 10am-6pm or SATURDAY, JUNE 5TH | 10am-6pm
In this full day class, you will start at 10 am and begin learning the basics of making Gouda cheese. Next, will explore the fabrication of cheese using fresh milk, cultures, rennet and salt. Later in the session you will visit the aging room and see how cheese matures over time. After plenty of samples and lunch you will put your boots on and explore the pasture. Milking will begin at 5 PM. It will be all hands on deck with the farm animals.
Farm to Table Private Cheese making Experience: Cow Farm
FRIDAY, JUNE 11TH | 1-7pm
In this full day class, you will start with a 3 hour Cheddar Cheesemaking class. We will then head out to the farm for a couple hours and you will get the full cow milking experience. Our farm filled day will end with a home-cooked Amish meal around the campfire.
