Restaurant dining this December looks like most of 2020: dining outdoors where possible and getting takeout or delivery. This holiday season, local restaurants are ramping up their offerings up with special menus for holiday dining. There are feasts with traditional roast turkey or ham as the centerpiece as well as modern twists on festive meals.

This curated list isn’t an exhaustive list, so we encourage you to contact your favorite spot and inquire about their holiday celebration menus. Our local restaurants need your support more than ever.  We’ll be updating this story as more restaurants reveal their plans.

Other places that you can dine on Dec 25th:
  • Frickers:  -multiple area locations open at 5pm, kitchen closes at 1:30am
  • Buffalo Wild Wings: Have something completely different for your Christmas meal this year, by picking up some wings at Buffalo Wild Wings, because most of them will be open.
  • IHOP: IHOP fans can rejoice because all IHOPs are open on Christmas Day, sticking with their usual 24/7 hours.
  • Waffle House: Waffle House is open on Christmas Day, also following their 24/7 normal schedule.
  • Perkins: Many Perkins will be open on Christmas Day but some franchise owners may choose not to open. Contact your local Perkins before you head out.
  • Golden Corral: Most Golden Corrals are open
  • Dunkin’ Donuts: You’ll find that only some Dunkin’ Donuts are open on Christmas Day and they’ll more than likely have limited hours. Call your local Dunkin’ Donuts for more details.
  • McDonald’s: McDonald’s is one of the fast food restaurants open on Christmas with most of the corporate-owned locations being open. Keep in mind that the franchises will be closed on Christmas Day. Give the location a call near you to find out more.
  • Starbucks: Most Starbucks are open on Christmas Day and you can pick up something for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and of course coffee. The hours that they’re open on Christmas vary from store to store so be sure to call your local Starbucks before you head out.

For all those folks who may not celebrate Christmas, or just don’t want to cook that day, there are indeed a few restaurants that will be open for your dining pleasure.  Of course you can always dine at Waffle House- they never close, but no matter where you dine out, please remember that the staff of these places have given up their holiday to serve you, so please tip generously, as working on a holiday is never fun, but should at least be profitable for those away from their families.
