The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery has announced that effective June 4, 2019, the Museum will be open for 2 additional hours every Tuesday from June through August.
“It is important to us that we are a convenient, flexible resource for the people of our area,” said Dayton Society of Natural History CEO Tracey Tomme. “Increasing our accessibility by extending our summer hours is a great way to meet the needs of our community.”
The museum has extended their Tuesday hours to better accommodate guests. All other hours will remain the same.
Summer Hours (June, July, and August)
- Monday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.*
- Wednesday-Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Sunday 12:00-5:00 p.m.
*The Museum has extended their Tuesday hours until 7:00 p.m. this summer to better accommodate the needs of guests. All other hours will remain the same.
The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is a place where play and learning come together so that visitors of all ages can explore the wonders of the world. The Museum includes a host of places for adventure and two galleries for temporary exhibits. Adventures are enhanced utilizing real specimens and artifacts from the Museum’s collection of 1.4 million items. Formerly known as The Dayton Museum of Natural History, the name was changed in 1999 to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in recognition of Oscar Boonshoft, one of the Museum’s most dedicated friends.
