Founder and owner Nikki Markoff has been working to open the doors of Global Gourmet in the Normandy Square shopping Center in Washinton township for a very long time. Well it’s finally happening, the doors will be open tomorrow to this space that will be a new location for shopping, hands-on cooking classes, private and community events, as well as wine and bourbon tastings.
With a lifelong love of food and the connections it inspires, Nikki believes that the kitchen is more than a place to cook—it’s a place to connect, create, and celebrate.
Nikki grew up in a family where food was their love language, working beside her grandmother who made everything from scratch, pasta, breads, cookies and meals, often using things she grew in her garden.
You may recognize Nikki if you ever took a cooking class at Hidden Valley Orchards in Lebanon, or through her prepped meal service which you can order online.
Through Global Gourmet, Nikki will bring her vision to life, inviting our community to share in the joy of hands-on cooking, global flavors, and meaningful moments around the table.
When you enter the space you’ll be in the wine store that will also feature goodies for charcuterie boards. Wander through the store and you’ll get to the first classroom. Guests will cook alongside one another to prepare a hands-on menu from scratch, guided by our expert Chef Instructors. Look for classes from Amber Tipton, who ran The Neighborhood Nest, specializing in Gluten-Free Baked Goods, Cake Decorating Classes from Bae’s Bakery, just to name a few.
Continue on to the community room, where wine and bourbon tasting classes for groups of up to 40 can gather. Perfect space to hold a fundraiser or small celebration.

You can sign up for classes via the website, here are just a few of the upcoming classes:
