Local mom and pop bakery Cake, Hope, and Love in Beavercreek is raffling off Cake For Life! Buy a ticket for just $10 and you could win a free 6″ cake every month for life.
Cake, Hope and Love is offering a Virtual Halloween Cupcake Class! They will be decorating 6 different Halloween designs on a half dozen cupcakes. Owner Shannon Teague chose designs that should be easy and fun for most all ages. The designs will be a cat, pumpkin, owl, Frankenstein, Spider and bat cupcakes.
This class will be hosted in a private group page on Facebook October 18th at 7pm. If you cannot be there for that exact time, that’s okay! The page group will be there for the remainder of the year and the video will stay there as well!
There are two ways to enjoy this virtual Halloween Cupcakes Class. One is to purchase a registration which includes an invite to the page. The invitation will be sent out the week prior to all those that register. With this single registration, you can have all of your friends come over and cupcake together with you! There will be only one invite, but you all can be together and having fun! The registration includes a list of supplies you will need to follow along for all 6 designs. You can register online with this link for just $20.
There will also be kits available. These kits will include everything you need to decorate the cupcakes and also the cupcakes themselves. You can order kits with the link below labeled Kit. Please note that the kit registration does NOT include the class registration. Kits will be available for pick up Saturday, October 16th from 11am-2pm only. Please note that we are closed Sundays & Mondays and I will not be around for pick ups during those times.

The PokemonGo craze has landed hard in Dayton! The groundbreaking A game has surged to the No.1 free game and No.1 grossing game in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in record-breaking time, qualifying Pokémon Go as a certifiable global phenomenon

We’ve seen plenty of folks walking around downtown, in parks and shopping centers with phone in hand, a look of concentration on their face and then a yelp of glee, fist pumping in celebration of a capture!
For those that want to know more, you can join the Better Business Bureau today from 11am – 1pm as they host a Lure Party on Fourth Street.
Or stop by Cake, Hope and Love for the best cupcakes and a guarantee of pokemon. Shop owner Shannon Teague got inspired and as she says, “I spent last weekend watching every video, reading as many articles as I could find about Pokemon. And I realized I could use lures to attract the pokemon hunters and offer incentives to them as well. I’ve met so many new people through this promotion and we’re having fun with it!”
Chili’s in Beavercreek learned that the game has made their restaurant a hot spot for captures. While we didn’t really have anything to do with it it seems to be drawing people to our location. Manager Macy comments, “I see all kinds of people walking around the restaurant with their phones, in and out of the bathrooms and around just searching. Our business has been up the last week or so, and I’m not sure if it’s do to the Pokemon Go hunters, but we’re happy to have them.”
Proto Build Bar is welcoming the POKEMONGO community tonight with two pokestops at their location tonight. They’ll also pulling out their retro consoles and arcade machines. They are also raffling off two tickets to Daytons Mini Maker Fair this Saturday.
And the Oregon District is planning a Poke Pub Crawl July 30th at 9pm all over the District What better way to bring more people together than Pokemon and beer! Start at one end of The Oregon and finish at the other end. Who knows how many pocket monsters you’ll find that night!
One things for sure, Dayton is into Pokemon GO, but a word of caution- you will use data, so if you don’t have an unlimited data plan for your phone, be careful.
Beavercreek’s favorite cupcakery, Cake, Hope and Love at 1490 N. Fairfield Road, is hosting their 2nd annual Tiki Week and if you’re willing to play along free treats are in your future!
On Friday from 10am to 10pm visit the shop dressed as if you’re a tourist on vacation and snag yourself a free cupcake from the counter! Limit of one freebie per person. 
On Saturday they’ll host their second annual Hula Hoop Contest. For every minute you can hula hoop without stopping you earn yourself a free cupcake (up to six minutes). They’ll have a couple of hoops on hand, but you serious hoopers are welcome to bring your own. The hooping promotion runs from 10am until 5pm on Saturday.
