Oakwood Farmers Market

June 7, 2025 By Amanda Delotelle

The 2025 Oakwood Farmers’ Market will be held Saturdays, June 7th thru October 11th, from 9 am until 12pm.

The Oakwood Farmers’ Market was founded in 2013 by a group of Oakwood residents who wanted to bring local farmers, gourmet food vendors, and artisans to the heart of Oakwood’s business district.

It is the mission of the Oakwood Farmers’ Market to create an educational, entertaining, and inclusive market for the residents of Oakwood and surrounding Dayton communities to gather and support local businesses.

The market is located on Orchard Drive and the adjacent public lot (off Far Hills Avenue) immediately behind the Oakwood Retail Center.

7 Farmers Markets You Can Shop This Week

May 10, 2023 By Dayton937

Farmers markets allow consumers to have access to locally grown, farm fresh produce, enables farmers the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with their customers,  and cultivate consumer loyalty with the farmers who grows the produce. Farmers markets have fruits and vegetables at the peak of the growing season. This means produce is at its freshest and tastes the best. Every time you shop at a farmers market, you benefit the local economy. Locally owned farms and businesses typically retain twice as much money in the area they’re produced when compared to large chain grocery stores. When money stays within a community, everyone in that community benefits, creating more opportunity for growth — including jobs.

Detroit Street and Greene Street, surrounding the Greene County Courthouse. The market will run every Saturday from May 13 through September 2, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. “We are very excited to bring a farmer’s market back to Xenia, especially in our historic downtown,” Hawkes said. “Visitors can expect to find goods from local growers, cottage bakers, including a gluten-free baker, and artisan crafters.
