A new cooking show filmed in Columbus (Dayton film crew Hayden Parsons & Savannah Webb
were involved in the production) where contestants will compete for the title of “top vegan” is set to premiere tonight. The competitive cooking reality series, simply dubbed Top Vegan, is be hosted by Chad Goodwin, owner of plant-based café 4th & State and vegan eatery Eden Burger, and guest judges from the Columbus food scene.
Eight vegan chefs and home cooks will compete in Top Vegan, which was filmed at Columbus State Community College culinary facility, Mitchell Hall. At the end of each episode, one contestant will be eliminated Top Chef-style. Competitions will see the contestants make vegan spins on classic dishes, paying homage to veganism’s roots and running a hectic service at 4th & State.
Dayton’s own, Rhea Adkins, Owner of Vegan It Iz Eats is one of the competitiors. Rhea’s passion for cooking began at the age of 4 years old. She is the owner of Vegan It Iz Eats, a restaurant space located at 2nd Street Market in Downtown Dayton. Rhea’s eclectic personality and authenticity are poured out in the food she serves and her love for people. Her desire to share delicious vegan food comes from a place of healing, hope, and restoration of food culture to expand palates beyond The Standard American Diet. She says her greatest honor is being the Mother of 2 wonderful children ages 18 and 2. She is also the author of the book “Plant-Based Jumpstart” along with many other titles. “Good food brings everyone together.
