Taste of Greene County

We Tasted Greene County!

April 30, 2018 By Lisa Grigsby

Yesterday hundreds of people enjoyed the 21st Annual Taste of Greene County at the Nutter Center.  Twenty area restaurants provided samples for attendees for just a $20 ticket ($15 if you bought in advance).  Restaurant booths lined either side of the floor with plenty of table seating in the middle.  Volunteers from the Beavercreek Youth Council did a fantastic job of busing tables and keeping the trash from piling up.

Dayton Dining attended the VIP seating, which opened an hour before the general admission seating, well worth the extra cost of $25 to be able to walk up to each table with no lines.  We made it through each booth and were dropping our ballots for the Best of Voting by about 12:15pm, just as the rush of the crowds were lining up at the booths.   We always look forward to this taste because the restaurants really do a good job of bringing great samples of their cuisine and the portions are plentiful. Our favorites this year included the Salmon Ravioli from Chef Justin White at The Wright Place at the Holiday Inn Fairborn, Giovanni’s Garlic Chicken Soup and the Naked Cowbell from City Barbeque.  The Soin Medical Center went all out with a Day at the Movies theme, serving up an impressive five different tastes. We were disappointed with the no show from Bravo! as we usually look forward to their Lobster Bisque.

Here are the results from the people’s choice voting:
