YWCA Announces 2023 Women of Influence

Since 1998, YWCA Dayton  recognizes Dayton’s most influential women, all of whom have made a difference in our community through their dedication to the YWCA mission of empowering women, eliminating racism and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

This 2023 class of honorees includes:

Melodie Bennett– Executive Director House of Breat

Marvene Mitchell Cook – Director of CARES Act & Workforce Development. Mont. County

Joanne Granzow –  Lifelong Community Volunteer

Michelle Kaye –  VP And Client Relations Director PNC Bank

Carol Prewitt – President Prewitt Consulting LLC

Carolyn Rice – President Montgomery County Commission

These ladies will be honored at a luncheon on Thursday, March 9, 2023
at the Dayton Convention Center.

Honorees were selected from a pool of 67 nominations by YWCA leadership and the volunteer WOI Committee, led this year by Chairs Lori and Chris Kershner. Lori is owner of LMK Advocacy and Chris is president and CEO of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. Jennifer Harrison of Taft Law is serving as 2023 Co-Chair.

WiBN Announces 2023 Women Of Impact Honorees

The Better Business Bureau’s Women in Business Networking (WiBN) program announced the 2023 Women of Impact honorees this week.

Women of Impact honorees are dynamic professional women who have been recognized for inspiring and encouraging those around them to actively challenge the status quo, working to improve their communities, develop their employees and advocate for women in general. Rather than being content with others just watching them work, these women involve those around them in their endeavors thereby increasing their collective impact. They help others ”Grow, Stretch, Thrive”, which is also the WiBN theme for 2023.

Sheri Sword, WiBN executor director, shares, “This year’s honorees are role models for women in the Miami Valley marketplace. They challenge the status quo, lift other women up to help them be successful and strive to make the Miami Valley marketplace a great place to live, work and play. They make a difference day in and day out, inspiring others to be the best they can be as well.”

Cindy Gaboury, Audio Etc…, will be the recipient of the 2023 Jeanne Porter Career Achievement Award. This honor is presented annually to a woman who continues to inspire, influence and impact the business community and the world around them well beyond their initial recognition as a WiBN Top 25 Woman or Woman of Impact. This award is meant to recognize an impactful professional legacy, like that of Jeanne Porter, founder of WiBN.

A celebration for all of these honorees is planned for October 14, 2023.

WIBN Announces the Women of Impact Class of 2022

The Better Business Bureau’s Women in Business Networking (WiBN) program is thrilled to announce the 2022 Women of Impact honorees, as well as Jeanne Porter Career Achievement Award recipient.

Women of Impact honorees are dynamic professional women who have been recognized for inspiring and encouraging those around them to actively challenge the status quo, working to improve their communities, develop their employees and advocate for women in general. Rather than being content with others just watching them work, these women involve those around them in their endeavors thereby increasing their collective impact. They understand we are “BETTER TOGETHER.”

Ann Riegle-Crichton, WiBN executive director, shares, “This year’s honorees are the picture of passion and persistence in changing the world around them for the better. They are supervisors and leaders, but also mentors and supporters who are making an impact on their employees, their customers, their families and their community. They inspire us to join in their endeavors so that we can make an impact too.”
