June Is Wrapping Up And It’s Great In Dayton!

Each week Charlie Campbell gather’s some of the best happenings in town and shares in here in his weekly column.

Reza’s Downtown is a Family Cafe opening Tuesday at 438 Wayne Avenue. They are bringing this beautiful 100+ year old building back to life.

EXCELITAS MIAMISBURG – 25 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE — The talk will discuss the history, founding, and growth of Excelitas Technologies, Miamisburg. This is at the Mound Cold War Discovery Center, Wednesday, 7pm.

Janet Sweeney offers a Yoga class for ALL body types! This Yoga class provides a great workout while being sensitive to each individual’s needs. Everyone is welcome! This is at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oakwood on Thursday, 10:15 to 11:15am.
Summer Music Series At St. Leonard.
The summer music series continues as Concinnity Jazz is performing on Thursday, 4 to 5:30pm. Light refreshments served plus cash bar.
The onMain are providing the latest plans for the former Montgomery County Fairgrounds on Thursday from 6 to 8pm.
The Accidentals are the concert at the Levitt Pavillon on Thursday, 7pm.

Bill Almoney and Dan Lunne make up The Capo Brothers. They play every Thursday in the summer at Milano’s outside or inside if it rains. They play around 7pm.
The Randy Villars Band is the concert at the Levitt Pavillon on Friday, 7pm.

100 Years of Hills & Dales: a Celebration of the Past, Present and Future.
Celebrate the rich history of Hills & Dales MetroPark! Learn about the park’s beginnings, how it became publicly owned land, and how it has developed during the past 100 years. Learn how the park is currently managed and how Five Rivers MetroParks plans to care for it in the future. Light refreshments will be provided. Friday, 5 to 8pm
The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center has an historic exhibit about Troy’s Musical Moments.It takes a look at the people and places that are a part of Troy’s music history. The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, from 5 to 6:45 pm.
A Community Blood Drive is at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 6430 Far Hills Ave, Centerville. Walk-Ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, visit www.donortime.com and use sponsor code 46. This is Saturday from 8am to noon.
Shiloh Farmers’ Market is at 5300 Philadelphia Drive and are open every Saturday from 8am to 1pm.
Healing Day for Tornado Relief. A day of wellness with free classes and mini sessions throughout the day to help with tornado relief. Ayurveda Natural Health Center, 1342 N. Fairfield Rd. Suite B., Beavercreek, Saturday noon to 5pm.
It’s the family-friendly celebration of the season as Dayton Metro Library hosts Party in the Park. Games, entertainment, activities, and experiences for all ages take place inside the Main Library and in Cooper Park, downtown. Admission and all activities are free; food trucks will be on hand for the purchase of food and beverages. The event takes place rain or shine on Saturday, 1 to 4pm.

GarlicFest revels in anything and everything garlic.

With an emphasis on this potent cousin of the onion, this event features live music entertainment, numerous arts and craft vendors and a wide range of garlic-centric dishes. So get your breath mints ready and head to this celebration of all things garlic. Saturday, noon to 10pm at Carroll High School to benefit the Carroll Athletic Fund.

Five Rivers MetroParks is celebrating International Mud Day with a day of free, hands-on activities in the Children’s Discovery Garden at Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark, 1301 E. Siebenthaler Ave. On Saturday from 10am to 2pm families can participate in 10 muddy activities with help from MetroParks educators and volunteers.
Dayton Funk All Stars is the concert at the Levitt Pavillon on Saturday, 7pm.

Underdog Academy Broken English 101:
“Stories Within the Margin.” PNC Arts Annex – Theatre; Saturday, 8pm.
