Fifth House Ensemble: Luna de Cuernos. Inspired by a Puerto Rican folktale (the title translates as “horned moon”), Fifth House celebrates the power of community in this multimedia program. Music is joined here with lively video and narration to convey the story of an urban garden threatened by mysterious forces. 2019 The Great Discussions Agenda. Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program
on world affairs. The program model involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book, watching the DVD and meeting in a Discussion Group to discuss the most critical global issues facing America today. It is Fridays, 10am at The Dayton International Peace Museum.

Aullwood’s Winter Speaker Series Matthew Shumar is involved with the Lights Out Ohio program across the state of Ohio. This project helps reduce bird mortality rates from collisions with buildings and increases data collection success with volunteer training and public outreach and education. Sunday, 2:30 to 4pm.
The Lincoln Society of Dayton have a program of dulcimer music and auctioning Lincoln and other interesting items, plus a silent and secret auctions as well. The afternoon ends with a noisy, off-key rendition of Happy Birthday to Mr. Lincoln, a few days early. Non-members are welcome anytime! The Garden Club of Dayton is bringing back FIVE SEASONS: THE GARDENS OF PIET OUDOLF on Sunday, at 5:30. Because its initial screening last fall was sold out, many in the gardening community were not able to view this remarkable film, so it’s being offered once more. All proceeds from ticket sales will support the many community projects of the Garden Club of Dayton. Tickets are $10 each and available at The Neon.
Meet local author Jess Montgomery in the lobby of Centerville Library. Montgomery is the author of the Kinship Historical Mysteries and copies of “The Widows,” the first novel in her series, will be available for purchase. Montgomery is a pen name of Sharon Short, newspaper columnist with the Dayton Daily News. The book is a gripping historical mystery about two women whose lives collide when the man they both love is murdered. It was inspired by the true story of Ohio’s first sheriff, Maude Collins, and prominent labor and community organizer Mary Harris “Mother” Jones.
