A new chapter is coming to a local brewpub. Local owners JT Rusch, Bill Perry, and Matthew Greene announced the purchase of Bock Family Brewing at 8150 Washington Village Drive and will begin operating the business as North Sea Brewing in May. The public-facing venue will be known as the North Sea Bierhall.
The acquisition brings together three local community members who will serve as the company’s leadership team. JT Rusch will serve as President and Director of Brewing, Bill Perry as Vice President and Director of Operations, and Matthew Greene as Food and Beverage Director. Together, the team says their focus will be simple: craft well, serve well, and welcome well. That means protecting the quality and character guests already appreciate while steadily building an experience people will want to return to again and again.
The new ownership team will officially take over operations on May 4 and say guests can expect much of what they already enjoy to remain in place, including the brewery’s current hours, a similar food menu, and many of the Bock Family beers customers have come to know and love.
For the new team, the goal is not to start over, but to build on what is already working. “We were drawn to what the Bocks and their staff created here,” said Rusch. “There is already a strong foundation of good beer, good food, and community in this space.”
Preserving that sense of welcoming and belonging is a top priority as well. “I want this business to be the most beloved Bierhall in the Dayton Region,” stated Greene. “That statement includes both the customers and the employees. We want everyone to be excited to come to North Sea Bierhall and connect with each other over good food, great drinks, and great experiences.”
Bock Family Brewing will host a farewell celebration on its final day of service, Saturday, May 2, from noon to 10 p.m. The business will then close on Sunday, May 3, to allow for the transition. North Sea Brewing will begin its soft launch in May with a grand opening celebration planned for summer 2026.
