Does your chili have what it takes to reign supreme at the 3rd Annual Crooked Handle Chili Boss Competition?
On Sat, Oct 12th up to 15 chili cooks will vie for the Championship!
To enter purchase a $20 ticket to submit your chili into the main event competition. Ticket includes 2 “Vote for People’s Choice” tickets. (one chili per $20 ticket). Your entry must be on the table no later than 2:30pm. Please provide a minimum 5 quarts of chili and a crock pot. Toppings WILL NOT be judged in the main event. The Judging Panel of experts will decide who walks home with the1st place cash prize of $250! (Full disclosure, DaytonDining has been a judge the previous 2 years, and will be again this year!)
~ First place in the main event will receive $250 cash and their name engraved on the Crooked Handle Chili Boss plaque
~Second place in the main event will receive a plaque and a $100 gift card
~Third place in the main event will receive a plaque and a $50 gift card
Fine chili should look good, smell good, and taste good! Accordingly, main event entries will be judged on the following criteria to arrive at a whole-number score for each category of 0 to 10 with 10 being the highest.

Last year Springboro resident Bill Lawton took home both the judges and people’s choice award. Mason Walusis won second place and Jeff Glackin took home third.
WANT TO HELP CHOOSE THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE?
Purchase a $5 “Vote for People’s Choice” ticket, come out to CHBC, grab a pint & spoon, and vote on your favorite chili for the People’s Choice Award. People’s Choice Award will be decided by ballot and the winner will receive a plaque and $150 in gift cards.
The main event judging will begin at 3pm. Popular vote ballots will close at 4:30pm. Award presentations will begin at 5pm.
